Like Rain on a Parched Earth

Ministry seems to go in cycles. Do you ever feel that as you serve the Lord? Often there are perceived dry spells in which it seems nothing is moving forward, folks aren’t getting saved, funds are running dry and discouragement sets in. After close to thirty years in ministry, we have been through a few of these arid times.

In Northeast Brazil we are going through one of the worst droughts in recorded history. Headwaters that have run as long as I can remember have dried up. Animals are dying on the side of the road, drinking water is scarce in the outback and temperatures reach 105° day after day.

In the past year, we have been blessed to witness dozens come to the Lord. We have been privileged to baptize 14 personally. God’s timing is perfect. We depend on Him for rain on a parched earth and for showers of blessings on His church.
