Mission Accomplished!

During 2016 we had the privilege of seeing the ministry in Mozambique rise to a new level. The goals the churches in Brazil had set 5 years ago we're accomplished. After five mission trips with close to 50 members of our churches participating, God has seen fit to bless the Global Christian Mission. Five years ago, we could not have imagined all that God would do through the desire of our people in Brazil to reach their ends of the Earth. Five years ago, we set out to build a wing on the Ebenezer orphanage; mission accomplished! Five years ago, we began a bible school with over 25 students in Mozambique; mission accomplished. Five years ago, our churches in Brazil decided they wanted to make an impact on the African continent. God is still working through us. In August, part of the group served in children’s ministry. They blessed more than 450 children during those days with the teaching of the Word of God. Our missionaries in Mozambique were also impacted.

The first graduation ceremony of the Christian Bible School was also held. God has used them as a channel of blessing. Finally, gratitude to all the partners who believed and invested in the work of the Gospel.

“I’m Still Vertical”: I am so happy to be able to write these letters to our faithful supporters. Many in the medical community here did not think I would still be here but, well, here I am. As my father would often say later in his life when asked how he was doing, “I’m still vertical.” Renate and I are thankful for prayers offered up incessantly on our behalf. We are also thankful for our financial donors who continue to faithfully support us here in Cleveland even through these uncertain times. Currently I am working as much as I can in our ministry at Baptist Mid-Missions headquarters. As you might imagine, we are not sure how long our time here in Cleveland will be and what awaits us on the other end. We are also thankful for excellent BMM insurance. Here at Baptist Mid-Missions, we are blessed to have assistants who go over and above to make up for my limitations, and we are also blessed to have co-workers, starting with the President, on down who are constantly sensitive to our needs. Much of my work here at the office involves processing retirements, account closings due to death or premature resignation and support estimate revisions. We also care for weekly deposits, inter-office transfers, wires, Western Union money grams, remittance changes and committed support reviews. So far in 2016, our office has sent over $51,000.00 in humanitarian aid through the World Relief Fund. It’s a pleasure to serve the Lord here at Baptist Mid-Missions for as long as the Lord wishes. If I am “still vertical”, I will be here to write our next letter to you.
